Reasons Why Brentford are Underdogs
You can think of Brentford as a typical mid-table team. These guys are currently in the 12th position with 24 points (7-3-8 record). What makes these guys different from most other teams is that their games see plenty of goals.
Their score difference is 32:32, which means that Brentford’s games see 3.44 goals per game on average. In comparison, the average number of goals in Arsenal’s games is 2.83.
The Bees are good offensively, but their defense is very leaky. The worst thing is that their recent form is very poor. They are 1-1-3 in their last five games in all competitions.
Arsenal Ready to Start the Year with a Win
If the Gunners beat the Bees on January 1, they will move up to the No. 2 spot. They’re in really good form, without a single loss since early November. Mikel Arteta’s men won eight of their last 10 games in all competitions.
While they’re famous for playing great at home, their away performances have been great as well. They scored a total of 16 goals in their last four games on the road.
Arsenal also has a very good record against Brentford, with six wins, one draw, and one loss in competitive games.
Not everything is great, though. The Gunners do have some problems with injuries ahead of the first Premier League game of 2025. They’ll miss four important players on Wednesday – Bukayo Saka, Raheem Sterling, Takehiro Tomiyasu, and Ben White.
Brentford vs. Arsenal Premier League
Arsenal is a much better team than Brentford, but this isn’t going to be an easy game for them. The Bees are going to sting them, scoring at least a goal. We do, however, predict that the Gunners will score more in the end.
Pick: Arsenal & Over 2.5 Goals
