EveryMatrix, BetBlocker & RGF Malta Team Up to Translate BetBlocker into Maltese

EveryMatrix, BetBlocker and the Responsible Gaming Foundation Malta have joined forces to translate BetBlocker into Maltese and help local gamblers get in control of their habits. This milestone development comes just in time for Safer Gambling Week and aligns with the three parties’ commitments to championing moderation in gaming.

BetBlocker Is Now Available in Maltese

As mentioned, the translation is part of EveryMatrix, BetBlocker and the Responsible Gaming Foundation Malta’s efforts to provide players with tools to get their gambling under control. BetBlocker, which is free and anonymous to use, allows players to limit their time gambling and foster good habits.

The translation of BetBlocker into Maltese is especially important considering that Malta is one of the biggest international iGaming hubs. This has been acknowledged by the three partners, which are bullish on allowing locals to use the cutting-edge self-exclusion software.

BetBlocker is easy to set up and allows players to either stop gambling or manage their playtime responsibly. Thanks to a variety of tools, including a calendaring feature, players can, for example, only exclude themselves from betting during the busier sporting periods, minimizing the risks of overspending.

A Significant Step Towards Accessibility and Inclusivity

BetBlocker’s founder and trustee Duncan Garvie, noted that new users can download the app and exclude themselves from gambling in less than 2 minutes. Being able to access the app in a language users are confident in will improve the convenience even further, he added. Garvie thanked EveryMatrix and RGF for their support, saying that it will benefit the local gaming audience.

We’re really grateful to EveryMatrix and the RGF for their partnership on this project. It significantly improves the options for Maltese players and will go a long way in terms of raising awareness of the support that BetBlocker offers amongst MGA licensees.

Garvie added that he hopes the Maltese regulator will require licensees to signpost blocking software in the future.

In the meantime, EveryMatrix’s head of compliance, Jake Cachia, said that his team is delighted to be able to support BetBlocker and the RGF. He noted that this reflects EveryMatrix’s commitment to protecting players from harm and making cutting-edge responsible gaming solutions and partnerships.

Last but not least, Kevin O’Neill, RGF’s general manager, described the translation as a “significant step towards accessibility and inclusivity. He added: “As we launch this initiative during European Safer Gambling Week 2024, we remain committed to contributing to an environment where innovative solutions, such as BetBlocker, can meaningfully impact safeguarding our community.”
