Faraz Jaka Takes Down $10,000 Buy-In Side Event At Seminole Hard Rock Rock’N’Roll Poker Open

The 2024 WPT Rock ‘n’ Roll Poker Open $10,000 no-limit hold’em Deep Stack event at Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood in South Florida drew a healthy field of 110 entries, resulting in a seven-figure prize pool that was split up amongst the top 14 finishers. After two days of high-stakes tournament action it was Faraz Jaka who emerged victorious with the title and the top prize of $313,495.

Jaka is a World Series of Poker bracelet winner and the World Poker Tour’s season 8 Player of the Year award winner. This latest victory increased his career earnings to nearly $8.2 million.

While this was the seventh-largest overall payday on Jaka’s tournament resume, it set a new personal record as his top score in a win. Prior to this victory, the $237,367 he earned alongside his first bracelet by taking down the 2023 WSOP $1,500 no-limit hold’em shootout held that distinction.

In addition to the trophy and the money, Jaka also secured 600 Card Player Player of the Year points for the win. This was his third POY-qualified score of the year, having also finished runner-up in this year’s WSOP $25,000 heads-up no-limit hold’em championship and eighth in another $10,000 buy-in at the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood back in August. With 1,080 total points, Jaka now sits just outside the top 650 in the 2024 POY standings presented by Global Poker.

Plenty of big names ran deep in this event, including Donovan Dean (14th), 2023 PokerStars Players No-Limit Hold’em Championship winner Aliaksandr Shylko (13th), two-time bracelet winners Justin Saliba (10th) and Shannon Shorr (9th), high-stakes crusher Thomas Muhlocker (5th), and four-time WPT main event final tablist Viet Vo (3rd).

The final heads-up clash for the title came down to Jaka and Phillip Krnyaich. Jaka was able to close out the win, sending Krnyaich to the rail to collect a new career-best score of $193,325.

Here is a look at the payouts and POY points awarded at the final table:
