Over the last year, recognizable gaming and hospitality operators in Las Vegas reached new contracts with local unions, ensuring better pay and additional benefits for the workers. On Thursday, another landmark Las Vegas Strip property reached a contract positively affecting more than 3,000 of its workers.
New Tentative Agreement After Long Negotiations
That’s the case with Fontainebleau Las Vegas, Sin City’s most recent hotel and casino resort located on the Las Vegas Strip. The premium hospitality, gaming and entertainment venue reached a tentative agreement with the Culinary Union after 18 hours of negotiations. Details regarding the new agreement were not immediately available, but the Union confirmed that further information is “forthcoming.”
What’s known so far is that the new tentative agreement will cover close to 3,300 non-gaming employees at Fontainebleau Las Vegas. While further details were not released, the Culinary Union congratulated the venue’s workers for securing one of the best contracts and such that meets the high standards of the Las Vegas Strip.

The Culinary Union, using its official social media account on X, formerly Twitter, told the story of Andre, a bartender at Fontainebleau Las Vegas. The worker shared his excitement about the new tentative agreement, revealing that he feels “relieved.” Andre added: “I feel great right now and I feel lucky and I feel blessed that we got this contract done today.”
Negotiations with Virgin Hotels Las Vegas Continue
While the Union reached a tentative agreement with Fontainebleau Las Vegas and many other hotel and casino resorts, some negotiations are still ongoing. Recently, civil disobedience during a strike near Virgin Hotels Las Vegas resulted in arrests. Close to 60 people were detained at a non-violent protest that took place on Paradise Road and temporarily disrupted the busy traffic.
The latest social media publications of the Union confirm that it is yet to reach an agreement with Virgin Hotels Las Vegas while the strike of workers continues. “While on strike, Culinary Union members at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas are celebrating the season in solidarity. Families gathered at HQ this evening for Christmas cheer, resolved to stay out until they win,” reads a statement released by the Culinary Union.
