BetMGM Names Ex-Fiat Chrysler Head Hurbis as New CMO

BetMGM, the joint venture between MGM Resorts International and Entain Holdings, has appointed seasoned marketing executive Casey Hurbis as its new chief marketing officer (CMO).

Impressive Experience Over Three Decades

The company praised Hurbis for his “innovative, needle-moving strategies” and extensive experience spanning over three decades in multiple industries.

Hurbis joins BetMGM after a recent stint as senior vice president of brand experiences and strategic partnerships at Rocket Mortgage, where he started in March

Prior to that, he served as Rocket Mortgage’s CMO for seven years, beginning in 2017

During his tenure, Hurbis played a key role in launching the PGA Tour’s Rocket Mortgage Classic and overseeing several Super Bowl commercials that earned consecutive top spots on USA Today’s ad meter.

In September, BetMGM Sportsbook and BetMGM Casino announced they would be listed as partners on website footers across the entire USA TODAY Network.

Earlier in his career, Hurbis held several positions at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. He joined in 2011 as the media, social, and CRM manager for the Ram Trucks brand before advancing to North America’s head of Fiat brand communications

By 2016, he took on dual responsibilities as head of retail marketing while continuing to lead brand communications.

In addition to his corporate roles, Hurbis is actively engaged in the marketing community. He serves on advisory boards for Google and Brand Innovators and is also a committee member for the Detroit Metro Sports Commission.

Hurbis also mentors through Adweek’s executive program.

Prevost Considers Hurbis “Another Impactful Advantage”

At BetMGM, Hurbis will report to Matt Prevost, the company’s chief revenue officer, and will operate from Detroit while also spending time at BetMGM’s headquarters in New Jersey

His appointment will also reunite him with the creative agency Highdive, with whom he collaborated on three highly successful Super Bowl campaigns during his time at Rocket Mortgage.

Reflecting on the appointment, Prevost, who called BetMGM “one of the most recognizable brands in the sports betting and iGaming sphere,” considers that bringing “a visionary leader like Casey Hurbis on board” will add “another impactful advantage” for their brand.

“I Am Up to the Challenge!”

Hurbis expressed enthusiasm about his new role, calling it an “epic opportunity” to join the powerful brand at the forefront of “a fast-evolving industry,” adding he was “up to the challenge.”

He also explained that while he will remain in his “beloved Detroit,” he will also spend a lot of time in their “beautiful NJ HQ” where he will work alongside the “super talented marketing & cross-functional teams” immersing himself in “the company, culture, and fully understanding the unique DNA” of the brand and its player community.

“I cannot wait to meet and get to work with ALL of our team members and agency partners as we take BetMGM to the next level, TOGETHER,” the new CMO added on his LinkedIn page.
