The Cincinnati Bengals have been horrible since the start of the 2024 NFL season, winning just one of their five games. They did show some signs of improvement in the last two game weeks, which has made oddsmakers think they’re ready to add another win to their tally.
However, their odds against the New York Giants in Week 6 suggest it’s not going to be easy. They’re seen as just 3.5-point favorites in the October 13 game.

Cincinnati Bengals Desperate for a Win
The Bengals started the 2024 NFL season with a shocking loss to the New England Patriots at home. The final score was 16:10 for the visitors, which shows that quarterback Joe Burrow and his teammates didn’t do a good job offensively. In fact, the NFL’s highest-paid player threw for only 164 yards with zero TDs.
He did much better in Week 2, throwing for 258 yards and two TDs. However, that wasn’t enough to get a win. The explanation is simple – the Bengals played against the mighty Kansas City Chiefs. Burrow was even better in Week 3, with 324 yards and three TDs, but his team lost again. This time, it was Cincinnati’s defense to be blamed.
Then, in Week 4, Burrow & Co. got themselves their first win of the season. They beat the Carolina Panthers 34:24. Of course, it’s great to end the losing streak, but beating Carolina isn’t much of an achievement as this is one of the worst teams in the league.
What they can be proud of is the war they gave to the Baltimore Ravens last weekend. They ended up losing 41:38, after placekicker Evan McPherson failed to score a field goal in overtime. On the bright side, their offensive team was brilliant in that game.
Burrow threw for 392 yards and five touchdowns, his highest number of passing TDs since joining the NFL four years ago.
New York Giants Looking for Their 4th Straight Win Over Cincinnati
The New York Giants are 5-6 against the Cincinnati Bengals in the all-time series, but they won each of their last three duels. The most recent of those was in 2022, when the NY-based team won 25:22. Things, however, have changed a lot since.
While the Giants’ 2024 starting QB Daniel Jones did feature in that game, it was Davis Webb (who’s now a coach) who threw for two TDs. Both of his passes were caught by Alex Bachman, a wide receiver who’s now playing for the Raiders.
The Giant’s third TD of the game was the work of running back Jashaun Corbin, who was waived by the franchise in August. What this means is that the players who were crucial for the win over the Bengals two years ago are no longer on the Giants roster.
On the bright side, the Giants have a relatively okay team in 2024, the evidence being that they’ve got a better record than Cincinnati. They’re 2-3 right now, with each of their losses happening to teams that started the 2024 NFL in top gear – the Minnesota Vikings, Washington Commanders, and Dallas Cowboys.
Cincinnati Bengals vs. New York Giants Prediction
Even though the Bengals have been struggling, their key player Joe Burrow has been playing his best football. With him in top form, the boys from Cincinnati should have no problems winning Sunday’s games. In fact, we think they might even blow out the Giants.
Pick: Cincinnati Bengals -3.5
