Only two more rounds are left in the group phase of the 2024-25 Champions League, and one of the teams that need to step up in order to book a place in the knockouts is PSG. The Parisians have 7 points, which is a point fewer than the bottom three teams from the playoff zone – one of those is Manchester City.

PSG Desperate for Points
The French heavyweight is currently in the 25th place in the 2024-25 Champions League. If they want to get to the knockout phase, they need points.
Winning against Man City would mean making a giant leap toward achieving that goal, although even a single point from that game would mean a lot. This is because they play against Stuttgart in the final round, which, at this point, looks like a winnable game.
Losing to Manchester City could cause problems for PSG, especially given that the Cityzens are their direct rivals for a spot in the next phase. So, can they do anything on Wednesday?
While PSG is no longer the powerhouse it was a few seasons ago, they still do have some talented players – Bradley Barcola, Ousmane Dembele, etc.
Another thing going in their favor is that they have the luxury to focus on the Champions League as they have a comfortable lead over other teams in the French Ligue 1. The same is not the case with Man City, who are in dire straits when it comes to the Premier League.
Problems Keep Piling on for Pep Guardiola’s Men
Even though the Premier League season is long, it seems very likely that Manchester City will not be able to defend the title. Their poor form over the last couple of months has created a gap between them and Liverpool that they probably won’t be able to bridge.
Their poor run has also caused serious problems in the Champions League. They’re in the playoff zone right now, but they have only one point more than PSG (and Stuttgart).
The worst thing is that their players aren’t showing any signs that better days are on the way. On top of everything, their schedule in the Premier League looks harsh, so they might not be too focused on the Champions League. The thing is that just three days after the PSG vs. Manchester City game, they play against Chelsea in the English top-flight.
PSG vs. Manchester City Prediction
We’re sure this is going to be a real banger, with plenty of goals, probably on both ends. But which team will score more? We think neither. Instead, our prediction is that this is going to be a high-scoring draw, with the final score probably being either 2:2 or even 3:3.
Pick: PSG vs. Manchester City – Draw
