The United Arab Emirates has officially launched its first regulated national lottery, marking a historic move toward regulated gaming. Despite local prejudice against the gaming sector, the country has been making huge strides toward a more liberalized market.
A Monumental Moment for the UAE
Operated by The Game, The UAE Lottery will be the first and only regulated lottery operator in the region. It secured a license from the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) in July, paving the way for lottery gaming. The launch is very important since it not only shows that the UAE is warming up toward gaming but it also represents a crucial opportunity to diversify the local economy.
The UAE has been increasingly focused on expanding its entertainment sector, even teasing global integrated resort operators with a potential legalization of casino gaming. In any case, the UAE wants to put entertainment first and has therefore adopted robust regulatory and safer gambling standards from the get-go.
The UAE Lottery will be available to citizens above 18, allowing locals to enjoy a variety of games. Players can expect a variety of exciting titles with huge jackpots on the line. Players can access the lottery’s digital platform where they would be met by intuitive UI, allowing them to buy tickets and track their prior tickets.
The Game Promises Exciting and Safe Experiences for Players
The inaugural lottery draw is set to be held on December 14. It will be streamed live and will offer a grand prize of DHS 100 million ($27.2 million) to commemorate the occasion. Players can also win one of seven Lucky Chance IDs that guarantee prizes of DHS 100K ($27K).
In addition to traditional lottery draws, players will also be able to buy scratch tickets and win prizes of up to DHS 1 million ($272,300).
The Game promises strong fairness, as well as robust security, ensuring that players can enjoy the lottery safely. Its director of lottery operations, Bishop Woosley, reiterated the company’s mission in the UAE, which, as its “Dare to Imagine” slogan implies, is to create exciting experiences for local players.
Woosley underscored The Game’s commitment to responsible gaming and the highest fairness and transparency standards.
In the meantime, Wynn Al Marjan, which is set to be the region’s first casino resort, continues its construction. According to Wynn Resorts, the resort has grown by 44 meters in the last 100 days alone.
